Our Story

Fastpitch Cares was formed in 2012 after two members of the softball community were diagnosed with severe E. coli. As friends, family, coaches and fans came together we saw a huge opportunity to not only help our two girls, but all kids. We joined together and did what we do best. “Play Ball”.

We held our first annual “Fastpitch Cares Tournament”, where all proceeds went to helping kids that need a hand. From this event, Fastpitch Cares was able to:

-Raise and donate $28,000
-Fund four Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors and Software for the Doernbecher Nephrology Department
-Fund three Free-Standing Manual Blood Pressure Machines
-Fund one Doppler Blood Pressure Machine (used primarily for infants)
-Donate $5,000 to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for communication equipment

Since then, Fastpitch Cares has continued to hold an annual fundraising tournament and has so far raised and donated over $230,000 for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital!
