Fastpitch Cares is honored to have donated $1,000 of gifts to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital
Child Life Therapy Program.
At Doernbecher, their Child Life Program is designed to help families and patients feel more at
ease while in the hospital by giving them the support and tools needed to help their children
heal. They offer:
- Animal-assisted therapy with their facility dogs
- Certified child life specialists
- Therapeutic, medical, and developmental play
- Games, art, music, playrooms and toys
This amazing program accepts donations year-round, but typically receives an influx of gifts
around the holiday season and faces a lull around the spring and summer time when donations
slow. That’s where we come in! Fastpitch Cares donated $1,000 worth of gifts specifically from
the children of Doernbecher’s wish lists such as stuffed animals, coloring books, beading kits,
puzzles, and more. We hope these presents are able to make their hospital stay a bit more
comfortable.
This is the first time Fastpitch Cares has donated to the Child Life Therapy Program, and we are
excited to be able to make more donations like these in the future.
